Subject: (urth) Wolfe-alikes: Christopher Priest

Anyone familiar with the works of the British SF
writer and mainstream fantasist Christopher Priest may
see parallels with Gene Wolfe (along with many
differences, of course.) There's a similar emphasis on
questions of memory, identity, and perception,
innovative and deceptive narrative structures, and the
use of genre tropes to startlingly unusual ends.
Priest's new novel, THE SEPARATION (published in the
UK by Scribner), will, I think, appeal to Wolfe's
readership--an alternate history of World War Two
effectively through the prism of the Uncertainty
Principle.
