Just a far-fetched thought stemming from the indicated
contents of STRANGE TRAVELERS: the items omitted from
that collection include "Empires of Foliage and
Flower" and "The Boy Who Hooked the Sun", the two
"Brown Book" stories not included in the text of
BOTNS. Could GW have kept those stories back in order
to embed them in a Severian-narrated portion of THE
BOOK OF THE SHORT SUN? It's an appealing idea, but a
complete stab in the dark...
