I don't have the text in front of me, but I seem to remember in one of the 
twin's accounts of the whole boat/astral travel section at the end of RTW, 
"Father" raising a container of wine to his lips. This results in a 
narrative comment from the twin that "Father" often seemed to only PRETENDED 
to eat or drink.
Which suggests something more sinister is going on. Not that I know what it 
is, other than extremely infuriating and disturbing! :P
