I couldn't find that in the archives when I wrote the message;
imagine my embarrasment on finding it in the afterword to _Claw_!
It actually says that the name suggests a fighting class, rather
like the Samurai. The stuff about coats of arms is still true,
of course, and arms were usually granted to knights, who were
a fighting class too. My thanks to all who refrained from
pointing out my mistake ;-)
